Ingredients

  • 2 cups Dried Garbanzo Beans
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1/2 cup Tahini
  • 1 cup Lemon Juice

Directions

  1. Cover beans with water, add baking soda, and let soak overnight.
  2. Drain, rinse and boil beans until tender.
  3. Separate beans from the water, but make sure to save the water for later use.
  4. Use food processor to combine beans, crushed garlic and salt. Add the saved cooking liquid as needed in order to make a smooth paste.
  5. Combine the tahini and lemon juice and stir until it has thickened and become smooth.
  6. Add tahini/lemon mixture to beans/garlic/salt mixture and blend.
  7. Smooth out hammos over a plate, and garnish with olive oil, parsley, cilantro, and olives.
